Saint Rose Athletics Hall of Fame
Matt Kavanagh was the first swimmer in Saint Rose annals to qualify for the NCAA Championships, doing such in each of his last three years. He recorded three All-America performances (50, 100, and 200 freestyles) as a senior to become the first All-American swimmer to represent Saint Rose. Matt was also named the 2006 Northeast-10 Conference Male Swimmer of the Year and was honored as the Outstanding Male Swimmer at the 2006 Metropolitan Conference Championships where he lowered 11 school records. He graduated as the Golden Knights record holder in the 100 breaststroke, 100 backstroke, and 200 individual medley, in addition to the 50, 100 and 200 freestyles. Matt was additionally part of five school record-setting relay teams.
