Saint Rose Athletics Hall of Fame
David Benyo was selected to the 2000 NCAA Northeast Regional All-Tournament Team after leading Saint Rose to a berth in the NCAA Division II World Series. He was furthermore an ECAC first-team All-South Region pick and an American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) first-team All-Northeast Region selection as a sophomore. He also garnered first-team All-Conference plaudits from the East Coast Conference and was named an NE-10 second-team All-League selection as a senior. David graduated as the school’s all-time leader in hits (225) and games played (190), and was also tied for second all-time in doubles (43) and in home runs (41), and fourth in RBI (172). He owns the program’s seventh-highest career batting average (.363) and two of the top-15 single-season hit records; 67 (1999), 66 (2001). His 65 RBI in 1999 represent the third-highest single-season school mark, while his .404 batting average that year is the eighth-highest in school annals. David also holds two of top-10 single-season doubles totals, 15 (2001 and 2002) and two of the top-10 single-season home run totals, 12 (1999 and 2001).
