Among the finest baseball players to ever don a Saint Rose uniform, Doug Kimbler was an NAIA All-America selection and the District 31 Player of the Year following his final season in 1990. Kimbler closed out his career as the College’s all-time leader in hits (212), runs (192), and doubles (50). The deft shortstop is still listed among the College’s top-five in hits, runs, RBI (160), doubles, triples (9), walks (108) and stolen bases (80) despite only playing three years. Kimbler was a member of the 1990 NAIA World Series team that set a school record with 55 wins and was also a part of three squads that won 76.4 percent (146-45) of their contests collectively. Furthermore, he was the first Saint Rose student-athlete to be drafted by a professional sports team.
