Saint Rose Athletics Hall of Fame
The 1990 baseball squad captured the NAIA District 31 title, the Area 8 championship and advanced to the NAIA World Series in Lewiston, ID in dramatic fashion. Saint Rose staved off elimination three times by defeating Wilmington and Point Park on the same day and then upending Point Park the following day in the Area 8 Tournament championship game. In the process, the Golden Knights snapped the Pioneers’ 41-game win streak. They then proceeded to go 2-2 in the World Series with victories against Lewis & Clark (OR) and Wisconsin-Stout, before falling to host Lewis-Clark State, which went on to win its fourth consecutive national title. Saint Rose wound up 38-9 on the year and at one point put together a still-standing school record 22-game win streak.
