ALBANY – Having the comfort of staying local for a meet, The College of Saint Rose men's and women's cross country teams each placed third at today's University of Albany Invitational. Between the two squads, four different athletes set personal records.

Senior Patty Massa ran a personal record 5K time of 18:55 to be the first Golden Knight across the finish line for ninth place. The time was also the fifth fastest women's clocking in Saint Rose records and the second fastest time for a Golden Knight on that course.

Sophomore Jordan Westcott ran a 12th place time of 19:09 while senior Emma Cohen finished just behind Westcott in 13th place with a time of 19:10. Furthermore, seniors Dana Welch and Grace Giampaglia crossed the line 17th and 19th with personal best times of 19:35 and 19:41 respectively.

In the men's race, junior Eric Young finished sixth with a personal record 8K time of 26:12, the sixth fastest clocking in school annals at that distance.

Sophomore Dominick Costanzo crossed the line 12th in 26:38, two seconds off his personal record, while sophomore Ed Brown ran a 26:56 to wind up 11th.

Also, senior Samson Dikeman and freshman Andrew Reifman-Packett set personal records as well. Dikeman finished in 27:11 and Reifman-Packett crossed the line in 27:13 to take home 22nd and 23rd place respectively.

Looking ahead, the Golden Knights will remain in the Capital Region next Saturday, October 6, for the Saratoga Invitational that is being hosted by Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. The first race is scheduled to begin at 12:00 pm at Saratoga State Park.
