NEW ORLEANS – The College of Saint Rose senior
Lauren Rabideau was named an All-Academic Athlete by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, student athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and finish in the top-30 percent of their respective regional championship meet, among other qualifiers.
Rabideau, a social work major, was also named to the Northeast-10 Conference Academic All-Conference Team earlier this week. She finished 22nd out of 162 runners at November's NCAA East Regional Cross Country Championships to garner All-East honors. Rabideau also earned third-team All-NE10 accolades by virtue of her 18th-place finish at this year's Conference Championships. She was one of just 403 women who were named All-Academic Athletes in NCAA Division II.
The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) is a non-profit professional organization representing cross country and track & field coaches of all levels. The organization represents thousands of coaching members encompassing NCAA track & field programs (DI, DII, and DIII) and includes members representing the NAIA and NJCAA, as well as a number of state high school coaches associations. The USTFCCCA serves as an advocate for cross country and track & field coaches, providing a leadership structure to assist the needs of a diverse membership, serving as a lobbyist for coaches' interests, and working as a liaison between the various stakeholders in the sports of cross country and track & field.
