SAINT ROSE WOMEN FINISH SEVENTH, MEN NINTH AT SARATOGA INVITATIONAL

The Golden Knights finished seventh out of 13 teams today at the Saratoga Invitational.

SARATOGA, NY – Running locally at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute hosted Saratoga Invitational, The College of Saint Rose women claimed seventh place out of 13 teams while the men placed ninth out 15 squads today.

Senior Jordan Westcott  just missed setting a 5k personal record as she was the first Golden Knight across the finish line at 18:16.9 for 11th place. Junior Bianca Jordan took 18th place with a personal best 18:36.2 clocking. The third finishing member was freshman Alicia Bousa at 19:38.4 for 59th place.
 
Freshman Emily Baker placed 70th behind a 19:50.6 time while junior Kristen Harrington and sophomore Amber Goodspeed finished 82nd and 88th with times of 20:04.2 and 20:16.0 respectively. Sophomore Danielle Shine rounded out the Saint Rose top-seven, finishing at 22:37.7 for 152nd place.
 
Finishing back-to-back for the men's team were sophomores Andrew Reifman-Packett  and Jonathan Cahill. Reifman-Packett and Cahill each set personal records with 23rd and 24th place finishes behind times of 26:49.5 and 26:52.3 respectively. Junior Eamonn Coughlin posted a 50th place time of 27:44.0 to be included in top three for Saint Rose.
 
Also finishing back-to-back were sophomore Krystopher Lotocky and junior Ed Brown in 87th and 88th place. Lotocky and Brown posted times of 28:42.5 and 28:44.9. Freshman Joseph Becker finished 101st with a time of 29:10.5 while classmate Benjamin Kapuscinski ran a 29:12.2 for 103rd place.
 
Saint Lawrence took the team title in both the men's and women's meet. Host RPI finished second in the men's and Ithaca took second in the women's race.
 
Next on the docket for the Golden Knights is the Williams hosted Purple Valley Classic next Saturday, September 28. The meet is scheduled to start at 11:30 am in Williamstown, MA.
