SAINT ROSE WOMEN FINISH SECOND, MEN SIXTH AT RIVER HAWK INVITATIONAL

NASHUA, NH – The College of Saint Rose men's and women's cross country teams returned to action earlier today after a week off and enjoyed solid performances as the women finished second out of eight teams while the men finished fifth out of six teams.
 
On the women's side, senior Patty Massa was the first Golden Knight to cross the finish line, clocking in a time of 18:57 for fourth place on the 5k course.  Meanwhile, junior Jordan Westcott was not far behind in eighth place.  Westcott turned in a time of 19:14. 
 
Three other Saint Rose competitors finished inside the top 25 as well.  Sophomore Bianca Jordan registered a time of 19:27 for 15th place while coming in at 19:28 in 16th place was senior Emma Cohen.  Rounding out the top 25 finishers in 24th place was senior Dana Welch, turning in a time of 19:59.
 
For the men, junior Eric Young completed the 8k course in 14th place with a time of 26:44.  Following Young in 20th place was senior Samson Dikeman, clocking in at 27:18.  Also finishing inside the top 30 runners in 23rd, 26th, and 29th place respectively was sophomore Dominick Costanzo at 27:29, freshman Andrew Reifmann-Packett at 28:00, and freshman Krystopher Lotocky at 28:15.
 
Next on the docket for both the men's and women's cross country teams is next weekend's Purple Valley Classic. The Williams College hosted event takes place on Saturday, September 22 in Williamstown, MA.
