GOLDEN KNIGHTS COMPETE AT PURPLE VALLEY CLASSIC

Sophomore Amber Goodspeed and the Golden Knights took seventh place today at the Purple Valley Classic.


RESULTS
WILLIAMSTOWN, MA – The College of Saint Rose traveled to Williams College this morning to compete in the Purple Valley Classic and left with the men's team taking second place and the women's team finishing seventh.
 
Junior Tim Scudds finished seventh to lead the Golden Knights on the 5k course behind a 17:06.7 time. Classmate Eamonn Coughlin followed in 11th place with a 17:23.2 clocking.
 
Freshman Joseph Becker and junior Ed Brown finished in 18th and 20th with times of 17:45.6 and 17:46.5 respectively. Senior Michael Corrado crossed the line at 18:22.0 for 34th place while freshman Deejay Brown rounded out the contingent in 54th place with a time of 19:18.0
 
Leading the women's group with a 5k time of 21:47.1 was sophomore Amber Goodspeed in 14th place. Senior Samantha Capece posted a 22:39.6 clocking for 31st place while freshman Michelle Lujan  crossed in at 23:30.0 for 47th. Finishing in 74th place was freshman Danielle Shine at 26:06.3. Two places behind Shine in 76th place was senior Brittany Papuzza with a time of 27:05.5.
 
Host Williams took first place in both the men's and women's races to edge out the Golden Knights.
 
Looking ahead, Saint Rose will participate in the LeHigh University hosted Asics Paul Short Run next Saturday, October 5. The meet is scheduled to begin at 12:15 pm in Bethlehem, PA.
