Last Time Out (11/13/22):Â The College of Saint Rose netted four scores in the second half to take a 5-0 victory over Mercy in the second round of NCAA women's soccer championship last weekend at Sullivan Field. The Golden Knights, the top seed in the East Region, outshot fourth-seeded Mercy by a 12-4 margin, including just one shot allowed to the Mavericks across the final 45 minutes. Sophomore forward
Mia Klammer opened the scoring in both halves as she pushed her streak of multi-point games to eight. Â Klammer chested home the opening goal of the afternoon for Saint Rose with 13 minutes left in the first half, converting a cross from junior midfielder
Lauren Amerena. Her second score of the day came 3:23 after halftime, when she dribbled across the top of the 18-yard box and perfectly struck a left-footed shot that sailed into the top left corner of the Mercy goal. Junior midfielder
Carolyn Brussell would make it 3-0 for the Golden Knights as her free kick from just out of the box snuck past the Maverick wall and goalkeeper. Junior back

Golden Knights in the NCAA Tournament: This year marks the 17th time in 20 years (excluding 2020) that the Golden Knights have been earned a spot to contend for the NCAA Division II National Championship…Saint Rose is now 31-13-6 all-time in NCAA Tournament contests…The Golden Knights have made eight national semifinal appearances (2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2014, 2019 and 2021) within the past 15 years, and captured the 2011 National Championship. Most recently, the Golden Knights advanced to the National Title game in 2021 where they fell 3-2 to Grand Valley State.Â

Scouting Saint Rose (19-0-3): Saint Rose, ranked #6 in the most recent United Soccer Coaches National Poll and the NE10 Conference Champions, is the top seed in the East Region…The Golden Knights have given up just 10 goals on the year for a .50 goals against average, which is good for eighth in the nation...Saint Rose has posted 13 shutouts, and its 63 goals scored is fourth-best in the nation….Saint Rose rides a 10-game win streak into their East Region final match and is undefeated at the Plumeri Sports Complex on the year…Freshman keeper
Pia Bozic, who has yet to allow a goal in the Golden Knights two NCAA tournament contests, boasts a .361 GAA which is 2nd overall in the nation….Sophomore forward
Mia Klammer paced Saint Rose and the NE10 with 30 points (8G/14A). Her 14 assists were second in the nation. In two NCAA tournament games Mia has 9 points on 4 goals and an assist which earned her East Region Play of the Year…Senior forward
Kaelyn Britt led the team with 10 goals coming into the tournament….Seven players from Saint Rose made All-League teams….Five Golden Knights were selected to All-East Region Teams, including Klammer, who was named the East Region Player of the Year.

Scouting Franklin Pierce (15-3-3): Franklin Pierce, currency ranked #14 nationally and the #2 seed in the East Region, is in the midst of its 22nd all-time appearance (first since 2018) in the NCAA Championship field...The Ravens are five-time National Champions (1999, 1997, 1996, 1995, 1994), and have won 12 regional titles since regional play began in 1996…Franklin Pierce hosted the other half of the East Region action last weekend and advanced with wins over seven-seeded Southern New Hampshire in round 1 and Bridgeport, the region's third seed, in a penalty kick shootout in the second round….The Ravens tied the Golden Knights with 30 points in the NE10 regular season table…Franklin Pierce has scored 39 goals and have a .79 goals against average this season….Sophomore midfielder/forward Salome Kerguillec leads the team with 17 points on 6 goals and 5 assists….Junior Aino Martikainen was named NE10 Defensive Player of the Year after earning five conference Defensive Player of the Week awards during the season….The Ravens had nine players represented on NE10 All-League teams and three selected to All-East Region teams.

Diversity: The Saint Rose roster features student-athletes from six states and Canada, in addition to Germany, Finland, England, Denmark, Slovenia and the Bahamas.

All-Conference Honors: Saint Rose is represented by seven student athletes who hold places on the 2022 NE10 All-League Teams, which were selected by the league's head coaches. Freshman goalie

All-East Region Honors: Klammer, Bozic, Rein, Amerena were each honored with first team All-East Region accolades, in addition to Brown being named to the second team.

Going Forward: The winner of Saint Rose and Franklin Pierce will move on to the face the winner of the Atlantic Region final between #1 seed West Chester (20-0-1) and #7 Kutztown (11-5-4), which will kick off at 12:00 pm as the first of the two regional final matches at Sullivan Field on Friday afternoon.
