United Soccer Coaches Announcement
KANSAS CITY, Missouri –
Mia Klammer of The College of Saint Rose has been named the 2023 United Soccer Coaches Association NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Player of the Year. This marks the second national honor bestowed to Klammer, as last week she also was voted the Division II Conferece Commisioners Association Ron Lenz Player of the Year.
Klammer finished first in NCAA Division II with 53 points this fall, which also earned her the Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Year and D2CCA East Region Player of the Year. In addition to her nation-leading points total, she also topped the east region with 18 goals and 17 assists.
In addition to earning first team All-NE10 honors, she was recognized on the NE10 All-Tournament Team and was awarded the Most Value Player award of the conference postseason. Klammer's efforts also earned her inclusion on the D2CCA and United Soccer Coaches First-Team All-American teams.
Klammer is the second player in Saint Rose women's soccer history to earn a national player of the year distinction, following Carmelina Puopolo in 2011 and 2012. The Golden Knights finished this season with a historic unbeaten record of 20-0-2, as this was the first team in Saint Rose program history to register at least 20 wins without a defeat.
