Last Time Out: Assumption scored the winning goal at the midway point of the overtime session to upend The College of Saint Rose 8-7 last Saturday on this field. The game featured seven ties and neither squad was able to manufacture more than a one goal advantage. The contest furthermore marked the fifth one-goal setback of the year for the Golden Knights. Senior attack Kevin Fleming had three goals and an assist, while senior midfielder Kris Miller finished with two goals and a pair of helpers to lead the Saint Rose charge.
 
Last Meeting: Merrimack jumped out to a 4-1 halftime lead to upend Saint Rose 11-3 on March 1, 2014 in North Andover, MA. Fleming scored two goals and set up another, while sophomore midfielder Tyler Mello finished a Fleming feed for his first collegiate strike. For the Warriors, sophomore attacks Max Allen and Tucker Schwarz, and junior midfielder Ryan Poirier, each scored twice. Saint Rose tied it 1-1 midway through the first quarter when Fleming scored a man-up goal unassisted. However, Merrimack countered with four unanswered tallies to go back up 5-1 until Fleming struck with 7:26 left in the third. The Warriors then scored twice in the final five minutes of the third to take a 7-2 lead, before Mello found the back of the net with 8:11 left in the game that made it 7-3 Merrimack.
 
Scouting Saint Rose (4-9/3-7 NE-10): The Golden Knights are aiming to improve to 4-1 at home this season…Miller has at least one point in 12 of the squad's 13 games, while Fleming has at least two goals in 11 of his 12 appearances…Fleming is 14th nationally with 2.67 goals per-game…He is sixth among the league leaders with a team-high 32 strikes, while Miller is tied for fifth with 19 assists…He also has a like number of goals…Senior goalkeeper Nick Longo is third in the country with a .619 save percentage.
 
Scouting Merrimack (11-1/9-1 NE-10): Merrimack is ranked #4 in this week's USILA National Poll…The Warriors come into today having won five straight…The only blemish on their record came via a 12-6 setback versus top-ranked Le Moyne a month ago…Merrimack is second in the country in both scoring defense and scoring margin…The Warriors have surrendered an average of 6.83 goals and own a +6.92 scoring differential…Sophomore goalkeeper Dom Madonna is second among the nation's leaders with a .616 save percentage and a 6.40 goals-against-average…Schwarz and Allen pace the team's scoring parade…Schwarz has 46 points on 32 goals and 14 assists, while Allen leads the Northeast-10 Conference with 39 goals.
 
Senior Day: Prior to today's game, 10 student-athletes will be honored as part of Senior Day festivities. The group includes Evan Helming, Ryan McFee, Louie Buccella, Colin Sorber, Pat Sunday, Jake Files, and Michael Grundig in addition to Fleming, Miller and Longo. Congratulations to that contingent, which comprises the first ever four-year class of the Saint Rose men's lacrosse program.
