WORCESTER, Mass.- The College of Saint Rose men's lacrosse team fell 15-11 tonight at Assumption, who was reviewing votes in the most recent USILA national coaches poll.
The Golden Knights received three goals each from Noah Gibson and Cam Smith, while Jack Rice registered two scores
Alex Johanson, Greg Walsh, and Aiden Blouin tallied solo strikes.
Rice was the Golden Knights leader with two assists. Johanson and Elijah Martin registered one helper each.
The Golden Knights rocketed ahead 4-0 in the first period, thanks to 11-straight minutes of scoring by Gibson, Blouin, Smith, and Walsh.
Assumption would wake up to score five of the next six goals to level the action at 5-5 at halftime. The Greyhounds controlled most of the action in the second period, including a 19-2 shot advantage over the Golden Knights in the quarter.
Rice and Smith netted the first two goals of the third for Saint Rose, however Assumption would sprint ahead for good with an 8-1 rally that stretched into the fourth quarter.
The Golden Knights are next set to face Saint Michael's in a 5:00 pm Senior Day matchup on Saturday evening at Sullivan Field.
