The Plot: The College of Saint Rose welcomes Nyack College for a non-conference match at
Sullivan Field at the Plumeri Sports Complex this afternoon to kickoff the 2013 season.
Last Meeting (9/4/12): Saint Rose controlled the tempo from the outset on the way to a 5-0 victory against Nyack. The Golden Knights scored twice within a 1:07 stretch throughout the initial nine minutes and then tacked on three more in the final 25 minutes. Sophomore midfielder

Scouting #4 Saint Rose (0-0): Head coach Laurie Darling Gutheil enters her 18th season at the helm of Saint Rose and has helped lead the Golden Knights to five straight NCAA semifinal apperances. Puopolo was named the Ron Lenz National Player of the Year in 2012 after leading the country with 57 points behind 20 goals and 17 assists. She is one goal shy of becoming the first player in Saint Rose annals to register 50 career strikes. Senior goalkeeper Jessica Gerski ranked eighth in the country last season with a 0.492 goals-against-average. Furthermore, the Golden Knights posted 2.76 goals per-game to finish seventh in the country. Twenty letterwinners, 10 starters, return this season.
Scouting Nyack (0-0): The Warriors finished with an 8-9-3 overall record last season that included a 7-4-1 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference mark. Nyack was selected tied for fifth with Holy Family in the CACC preseason poll. Sophomore forward Cyan Jean-Baptiste is the team's top returning scorer after registering nine goals and one assists for 19 points as a rookie. Junior goalkeeper Madeline Barbarino made 16 starts while playing in 19 games between the posts. She finished with a 1.79 goals-against-average and a .656 save percentage.
