The Plot: The College of Saint Rose welcomes Franklin Pierce today for a Northeast-10 Conference Championship quarterfinal match at Sullivan Field at the Plumeri Sports Complex that can be seen live on www.gogoldenknights.tv.

Last Meeting (9/28/13): Saint Rose scored once late in each half during a 2-0 victory versus Franklin Pierce. The Golden Knights outshot the Ravens 22-4, including 15-1 in the second half, and generated six corner kicks without yielding any. Franklin Pierce manufactured three of the matches' initial four shots during the opening 15 minutes, but Saint Rose controlled the pace the rest of the way. Freshman forward Sammy Blizzard scored the game-winner in the 36th minute and senior midfielder Sydney Bond added an insurance marker in the 85th. Senior keeper Jessica Gerski recorded three saves for the Golden Knights while sophomore Katie Weldon made five of her seven stops after halftime for Franklin Pierce. Senior midfielder Laura Taylor ignited the scoring when she sent in a through ball that Blizzard touched home in the middle of the area to make it 1-0.

Scouting #5 Saint Rose (16-0-2):  The Golden Knights have won at least a share of the NE-10 regular-season title for the eighth straight year. Saint Rose registered its 15th shutout of the season behind Saturday's 4-0 win at Bentley. The Golden Knights have now recorded at least 15 clean sheets in five of the past seven years. The lone exceptions came in 2008 and 2012 when they recorded 14 and 13 respectively. In fact, Saint Rose has registered a staggering 108 shutouts during its previous seven campaigns. Bond has moved into second place on the College's all-time point production list after she set up a pair of strikes on Saturday. Bond now has 113 career points (45g, 23a). The lone player she trails is current teammate and senior forward Carmelina Puopolo, who has racked up 148 points (51g, 46a) throughout her illustrious career.

Scouting Franklin Pierce (7-7-3): The Ravens won three of their last five matches to earn the #8 seed in the NE-10 Championship. Franklin Pierce is 5-3 in one-goal decisions. Sophomore forward Hannah Weagle and freshman midfielder Madison Finlay each lead the team with 12 points via four goals and four assists. Freshman forward Nicole Chaet has also registered four goals. The Ravens are averaging 13.4 shots per-game and have an assist on 16 of their 20 goals. This is the second straight year Franklin Pierce has qualified for the league championship after missing the postseason in 2011. Previously, the Ravens had advanced to the championship final for three straight years (2008-10), falling to Saint Rose on all three occasions. Conversely, they won seven straight titles between 2000 and 2006.

Up Next: The winner of this match will face either New Haven or Merrimack in a semifinal encounter on Friday. Saint Rose would host, while the Ravens would have to travel once again.
