#3 SAINT ROSE MEETS PACE THIS EVENING

The Plot: The College of Saint Rose plays the second of back-to-back home matches by hosting Pace in a Northeast-10 Conference match at Sullivan Field at the Plumeri Sports Complex this evening.

Last Meeting (9/26/12): Saint Rose recovered from an early deficit to upend host Pace 3-1. The Setters struck in the opening two minutes, but senior midfielder Sydney Bond put in the game-winner at the 76:16 mark after senior forward Carmelina Puopolo tied it before halftime with 41:54 elapsed. Sophomore midfielder Michaela Phillips then added an insurance tally by converting a header in the final four minutes.

Scouting #3 Saint Rose (7-0/4-0 NE-10): Sophomore midfielder Jennifer Busk was named Co-Player of the Week, freshman forward Sammy Blizzard earmed Rookie of the Week honors and junior back Jourdan Thompson was tabbed Co-Defensive Player of the Week on Monday by the NE-10. Saint Rose ran its season-long shutout streak to seven games behind Saturday's 2-0 triumph versus Franklin Pierce. Saint Rose has outscored its opponents 21-0, has manufactured a 140-28 shot differential, and has generated 64 corners while yielding only eight this autumn. The Golden Knights standd fifth in the country in scoring offense (3.0 goals per-game) according to the most recent NCAA statistical report.

Scouting Pace (1-6-1/1-3-1 NE-10): Freshman forward Delaney Williams leads the Setters with two goals and an assist for five points. The Setters have produced 104 shots throughout eight games while also producing 37 corner kicks. The lone victory for Pace was a 1-0 home win versus Stonehill on Sunday, September 15. Sophomore forward Fabiana Rebecca struck in the 82nd minute for the contest's only tally. The Setters also produced a 2-2 tie on Saturday, September 21 at Merrimack after being down 2-0 at halftime. Williams and senior back Jessica Paskowski scored two goals within nine minutes of each other in the second half to tie the game.

Both teams are on the road Saturday for league contests. The Golden Knights travel to Colchester, VT to face Saint Michael's at 2:00 pm while the Setters face Bentley at 10:00 am in Waltham, MA.
