HAMILTON, NY – The College of Saint Rose men's and women's cross country teams began the 2012 season with the Harry Lang Invitational, hosted by Colgate University, earlier today. Many Golden Knights made their debut in this meet that included seven NCAA Division I teams. The men's team earned 10th place, while the women's squad wound up 11th.
Freshman Andrew Reifmann-Packett finished the 6,400-meter course in a time of 22:19.00 to be the first Saint Rose runner across the finish line in 52nd place. Two fellow freshmen,
Jonathan Cahill and
Evan Hayner, turned in times of 23:07.00 and 23:26.00 respectively to come in 60th and 62nd place.
Freshman Krystpoher Lotocky turned in 65th place to start his collegiate career with a time of 23:56.00 while classmate
Alex Triana crossed the line at 24:16.00 for a 68th place finish.
On the women's side, senior
Grace Giampaglia became the first Golden Knight to complete 4,200-meter course in a time of 18:19.00 to put her in 49th place. Freshman
Amber Goodspeed followed in 60th place, registering 19:02.00. Sophomore
Jess Ayotte wound up in the top 70 runners in 69th place behind 19:55.00 on the timer.
Sophomore
Ana Loor and junior
Brittany Papuzza finished back-to-back in 73rd and 74th with 21:25.00 and 21:53.00 respectively on the clock.
Saint Rose next competes in two weeks, at the River Hawk Invitational. The meet is hosted by UMass Lowell and is scheduled for Saturday, September 15.
