UTICA, N.Y.- The College of Saint Rose indoor track & field teams traveled to Utica College for the annual Pioneer Fast Track Invitational this weekend. Overall, the Saint Rose men claimed ninth, while the women finished 13th in the respective 20-team competition.
The Golden Knights posted a strong day in the field events on the men's side, as
Jalen George and
Keenan Wood each logged notable performances. George broke the Saint Rose program record in the weight throw when he registered a toss of 14.96 meters in his fifth place result.
Wood scored fourth in the triple jump with a career-best distance of 13.38 meters. With this weekend's result, Wood ranks fifth in the Northeast-10 Conference standings for the event.
Matthew Waruch who finished fourth in the 600-meter (1:26.77), marking the fourth consecutive meet with a top-eight finish for him.
Trevon Walker earned fifth place in the long jump (6.28m), while
Matai Hazel took sixth in the 60m dash (7.21 seconds).
Rihanna Burgher had the top finishes on the day for the women. She finished in the seventh place in the 400m with a time of 1:05.49 and also recorded the fastest time in her career while finishing in the 200m (27.66 seconds).
Both the men's and women's program will next head to Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex on Friday for the National Fastrax Invite.
