SPRINGFIELD, Mass.- The College of Saint Rose men's and women's track and field teams competed in their first event of the spring today at the American International Yellow Jacket Invitational.
Sophomore
Matthew Waruch finished sixth and eighth, respectively, in the men's 1500 and 800-meter events to lead the Golden Knights. Waruch earned his top-10 results behind marks of 4:10.63 in the 1500m and 2:02.58 in the 800m.
Sophomore
Kyle Ostrander (10,000m) and junior
Mason Davis (shotput) matched Waruch with eighth place finishes as well. Ostrander clocked 34:31.60 in his distance event, while Davis recorded a longest toss of 13.04 meters. Davis also took 10th in the discus (39.58m).
On the women's side, sophomore
Elizabeth Mattair crossed third in the 10,000m in 45:01.28, while sophomore
Brooke Iannone earned points with a fourth-place finish in the 3,000 steeplechase (13:56.04).
Sophomore
Zoe Harris claimed fifth in the 100m dash with a time of 13.10. Harris also took 11th in the 200m in 27.04. Freshman
Sara Fitzgerald earned sixth in the 800m behind a mark of 2:27.94.
Freshman
Rachel Cataldi logged a best effort of 33.47m to finish 10th in the hammer throw.
The Golden Knights are back in action in Saturday's Utica Pioneer Spring Invitational.
