INDOOR TRACK & FIELD COMMENCES 2023-24 CAMPAIGN AT SPRINGFIELD

SPRINGFIELD, Mass.- The College of Saint Rose men's and women's indoor track & field teams opened the 2023-24 season at the Springfield College Season-Opener today, with both Golden Knight squads each placing fourth in the respective team standings.

Reese Casinelli took the victory in the 400-meter with a time of 51.08 seconds. Casinelli also finished seventh in the 60m dash in 7.16.

Matthew Waruch took second in the 600m (1:29.84), while Trevon Walker claimed third place in 60m hurdles (9.65) and the long jump (6.38 meters). Matai Hazel crossed fourth in both the 60m (7.03) and 200m (23.34) and D'Andre Little was fifth in the 60m hurdle (11.46). For Hazel, his 60m time stands top-five in program history.

Kyle Ostrander finished 7th and 8th, respectively in the 3000m (10:07.58) and 1 mile run (5:00.66). Robert Deck was 8th in the 3000m (10:32.61) and 10th in the mile (5:03.86).

Keenan Wood earned third in the triple jump (12.78 meters) and Jalen George took sixth in the weight throw (13.59 meters) to round of the men's results. Wood's triple jump result ranks third in the Saint Rose men's record books.

On the women's side, Gisella King led the Golden Knights with a third place finish in the high jump (1.46 meters), which is fifth best all time in women's program history. King also took a fourth place result in the 400m (1:05.29). Sara Fitzgerald claimed third as well in the 400m (1:04.55).

Zoe Harris crossed third in the 200m (27.34) and seventh in the 60m (8.29), while Rihanna Burgher took fifth in the 200m (27.62) and seventh in the 400m (1:08.07).

Fitzgerald, Harris, King, and Burgher all combined to earn second in the women's 4 x 400 relay with a time of 4:27.90.

Emma Crahan highlighted the Golden Knights women in the field, as she took eighth in the weight throw (9.48m) and ninth in the shotput (9.35m).

The Golden Knights are back in action on Friday at the Wagner Seahawk Shootout at the Ocean Brreze Track & Field complex on Staten Island.
