FLUSHING, N.Y..– Five members of The College of Saint Rose women's soccer team have earned recognition on the Division II Conference Commissioners Association All-East Region Teams, with sophomore forward
Mia Klammer headlining the group as the East Region Player of the Year.
Freshman keeper
Pia Bozic, junior back
Sanna Rein, and junior forward
Lauren Amerena joined Klammer among the East Region's first team honorees, in addition to sophomore defender
Jada Brown receiving second team accolades.
Klammer paced the Northeast-10 Conference with 30 points, as she finished tops in the league with 14 assists and tied for second-best with 8 goals. The 30 points list Klammer in the top-25 in the nation for total points and 16th overall in points per game, while her 14 assists are second most among NCAA Division II players. Klammer was twice named NE10 Player of the Week over the course of 2022, earned first team All-Conference honors, was recognized on the NE10 All-Tournament Team, and took home the Most Value Player award of the conference postseason tournament.
Honored as the NE10 Goalkeeper of the Year, Bozic led the league with a .881 save percentage and 0.40 goals against average, while giving up a conference-low seven scores. Bozic's save percentage and GAA are both top-10 in the nation among Division II goalies, including the third-best goals against rate in the country. Bozic started in net for 13 shutouts during the Golden Knights 2022 campaign and received first team All-Conference and All-Rookie honors after allowing one goal or less in 19 of 20 matches.
Amerena, who was also named first team All-NE10 and recognized on the conference All-Tournament team, finished the season with six goals and six assists. Her 18 points rank fifth highest in the conference, while her goal and assist totals respectively list seventh and third-best in the league. Amerena concluded October with a three-game stretch where she notched eight points total over the trio of matches, which earned her both NE10 Player of the Week and United Soccer Coaches Division II College Player of the Week honors.
Rein and Brown, both first team All-NE10 performers, have been season-long starters for a Golden Knights defense that stands eighth in the nation with 0.50 goals against average. Additionally, Rein has piloted a unit that has surrendered one goal or less in 19 of 20 matches this season. On the offensive side, Rein's 10 points (three goals and four assists) lists in the top-20 in the NE10.
Saint Rose has advanced to the NCAA East Region finals, where the Golden Knights will matchup with Franklin Pierce on Friday afternoon at Sullivan Field. Kickoff is set for 3:00 pm.
