ALBANY, N.Y.- The College of Saint Rose swimming and diving teams competed in their first home meet of year today, with the Golden Knights welcoming Bentley to the Albany High Swim Center for dual meet action.
Strong performances Junior
Brenna Hayes and sophomores
Gabbie Lupe and
Mia Stroub lead the Golden Knight women on the day. Hayes claimed second place in the 200-yard freestyle in 2:09.17 and third in the 100 butterfly in 1:04.77. Lupe grabbed second in the 100 free (57.58) to go along with a third-place result in the 50 free (26.40), while Stroub took the victory in the 100 backstroke with a mark of 1:02.87.
On the men's side, sophomore
James Henriques earned a pair of second place finishes for Saint Rose, touching in 21.88 in the 50 free and 54.54 in the 100 fly. Sophomore Maddox Aramini recorded the win (57.42) and senior
Jacob Steen finished third (59.74) for the Golden Knights in the 100 back.
Additionally, the grouping of Henriques, Amarini, Steen, and sophomore Aldemar Alikavazovic touched in 1:45.81 to take third place in the 200 medley relay.
Looking ahead, Saint Rose will next compete on Saturday in a home dual meet with Pace University beginning at 1:00 pm.
