HAYES, LUPE, AND ALIKAVAZOVIC LEAD SAINT ROSE AT HARTWICK QUAD MEET

ONEONTA, N.Y. – The College of Saint Rose swimming and diving squads were in the water today to face Hartwick College, Delhi College, and Utica University at the Hartwick Quad Meet.

A strong day for the Golden Knight women saw Saint Rose claim a pair of relay wins and six individual victories.

Brenna Hayes and Gabbie Lupe each earned first place in two events to lead the Golden Knights to a sweep across the team scoring. Hayes won the 100 and 200 butterfly with times of 1:03.31 and 2:29.30, while Lupe claimed the 50 and 100 freestyle in 25.91 and 1:03.31.

Mia Stroub also touched the wall first in the 200 free in 2:06.16, and Emily Ashby was the top scorer on the 1-meter board with a mark of 177.90. 

Hayes and Stroub teamed with Grace King and Laura Borrelli to take the 200-yard medley relay in 2:00.27.  Stroub, Lupe, and King would later work alongside Emma Dumas to win the 400 free relay in 3:58.69.

On the men's side, Aldemar Alikavazovic finished first in the 100 and 200 breaststrokes in 1:03.43 and 2:25.34. James Henriques and Nathan Green also took respective victories in the 50 free and 500 free, touching the wall in 21.85 and 5:12.97.

Alikavazovic and Henriques joined Maddox Aramini and Jacob Steen to claim the 200 medley relay in 1:40.03.

Looking ahead, the Golden Knights next compete against Bentley on Sunday, October 30. The action begins at 1:00 pm at the Albany High Swimming Pool.
