WALTHAM, Mass. – The College of Saint Rose dropped this afternoon's Northeast-10 Conference game at Bentley, 13-8.
Sophomore attack
Jack Pemrick topped the Golden Knights (1-5/0-4 NE10) with four points, two goals and two assists. Sophomore midfielder
John Loughlin added two goals and an assist, while junior attack
Jordyn Marchiano netted two goals in his return to the Saint Rose lineup.
Senior midfielder
Nicolas Johnson, who began the week third in the nation with 12.40 groundballs per game, won 21-of-24 face-offs and equaled a career-best with 17 groundballs in the matinee. The co-captain also tallied his third career goal off one of his face-off victories.
After Marchiano scored twice in the opening 5:45 to give the visiting Golden Knights a 2-0 lead, Bentley (3-1/1-1 NE10) took over. The Falcons, which received votes in the latest USILA rankings, outscored Saint Rose 11-2 across the ensuing 32:35.
Saint Rose used a 4-0 run to cut the deficit to three, 11-8, with 13:08 remaining, but was unable to get any closer.
Senior attack Alex Astarita and sophomore attack Kristopher Campbell scored three goals apiece to lead the Bentley attack.
Both teams face NE10 opponents on Wednesday. Saint Rose hosts American International at 5:00 pm, while the Falcons are at No. 6 Merrimack at 7:00 pm.
