MANSFIELD, Mass. – The College of Saint Rose dominates the 2019 Northeast-10 Conference women's soccer All-League list with four major honors being bestowed to student-athletes that garner a Golden Knights uniform. Furthermore, Saint Rose is represented by nine student-athletes on the All-Conference teams. The 2019 All-League squads were selected by the conference's 14 head coaches.
Â
Senior forward
Nina Predanic has been named the Player of the Year, senior back
Deanna Trongone the Defensive Player of the Year, junior
Marika Laurendeau the Goalkeeper of the Year, and freshman forward
Olivia Boucher the Rookie of the Year. All four have also been named first-team All-Conference picks along with senior midfielder
Morgan Burchhardt for a Golden Knights (14-2-1) side that has earned the top-seed in the upcoming NE10 Championship Tournament.
Â
In addition, senior backs
Nia Brown and
Karmyn Carter have been tabbed second-team picks, while senior midfielder
Eva Frazzoni has been chosen a third-team honoree. Boucher has also been named to the All-Rookie team along with freshman midfielder
Sanna Rein.
Â
This is the fourth consecutive first-team, All-Conference nod for Predanic who is the third Saint Rose student-athlete to garner Player of the Year accolades, joining Christina Cuffari in 2011 and Amanda Deck in 2010. She currently leads the NE10 in goals (15), points (42), and assists (12), and is among the top-15 in each category nationally. Predanic is also third in the country with six game-winning strikes.
Â
Trongone and Laurendeau help anchor a Golden Knights defensive unit that leads the league with a 0.80 team goals-against-average. The latter was a second-team selection as sophomore in 2018.
Â
Boucher has proved to be a dangerous threat up front. She is third among the league leaders with 25 points and 10 goals this autumn.
Â
Burchhardt is simply among the most prolific players in the venerable annals of Saint Rose women's soccer. A four-time All-League honoree, she and Predanic are among the top-eight point producers in school history.
Â
Meanwhile, this is the third All-Conference honor for Brown and the first for Carter. The former has started all of the team's 75 matches as an outside back throughout her four-year tenure, while Carter has appeared in 70 of those games.
Frazzoni, a member of the Bermuda National Team, has been a four-year starter on the flank, while Rein has made an immediate impact this season both in the midfield and on the back line.
Â
Saint Rose, ranked #11 in the most recent United Soccer Coaches National Poll, has secured the top-seed in the upcoming NE10 Championship Tournament that gets underway Sunday. The Golden Knights, who will be seeking their eighth conference postseason title, will host eighth-seed Pace University in a 1:00 pm quarterfinal match at the Plumeri Sports Complex. Saint Rose upended the then #24 Setters 2-1, in double overtime in Albany back on September 24.
