ALBANY, N.Y. –The College of Saint Rose men's lacrosse team scored five goals in the final 5:40 for a comeback

Carter Badour matched a career-high with five goals to lead the Golden Knights (9-7/7-4 NE10) on a rainy Senior Day.
"We were just wearing down their defense and we knew shots were going to start falling," said Badour. "We were getting good opportunities all game and it was just a matter of time."

Matt Graham added four goals, including the game-winner with 22 seconds remaining, and two assists for Saint Rose, who defeated a ranked opponent for the first time since 2012. Graham, the program's career scoring leader with 143 points, became the first Golden Knight to score 100 goals late in the first quarter.

Badour completed the regular season with 52 points, a team record, and good for fourth in the league. He is second in the NE10 with 42 goals, while Graham is fifth with 35.

Saint Anselm (9-4/7-4 NE10) received five points, three goals and two assists, from freshman midfielder Matt Ward. Senior attack Ryan Hesseltine and junior midfielder Anthony Busconi scored three goals each, while junior goalie Nick Richard recorded 14 stops.
The Golden Knights got out to a quick 4-1 lead before Saint Anselm went on an 8-0 run across a 21:37 stretch to hold a five-goal advantage in the third quarter. Saint Rose closed the third period with a trio of goals in a 2:51 span to set up the fourth quarter rally.
"We just kept the same message, to stick together and weather the storm," said Badour. "We did not get worried, knowing that if we stuck to our guns, we'd be all right."
"We had a few mental defensive errors, but once we fixed those, we were set," added Guiton.
The Golden Knights defense did not allow a goal for the final 11:24 of the game.

The victory clinched the Golden Knights a home first round NE10 Championship Tournament game, scheduled for Tuesday, May 1. Saint Rose, seeded fourth and making its first-ever postseason appearance, will host Saint Anselm, the fifth seed. Game time is currently set for 4:00 pm. The other first round game will pit Pace University, the six seed, at No. 6 Adelphi, the three seed. No. 1 Le Moyne and No. 2 Merrimack received opening round byes and will host the winners on Friday.
