PHILADELPHIA–The College of Saint Rose scored five times throughout a 29 minute span early in the second half to upend host Holy Family 6-0 today. The Golden Knights (2-0), ranked #6 in the NSCAA Preseason National Poll, developed a 16-3 shot-on-goal advantage and manufactured 11 corner kicks while allowing only a pair.

Ashley Homer made three saves for her second clean sheet in as many outings. Fellow sophomore keeper Sienna Smith made seven of her 10 saves after halftime for the Tigers (1-2).

Puopolo notched the game-winner by beating Smith in the area with 38:55 elapsed. She then touched home a Burchhardt feed at the 49:06 mark, before Burchhardt herself struck unassisted 78 seconds later to make it 3-0. Puopolo, Roney, and Blizzard then found the back of the net within a 10 minute stretch to afford the Golden Knights back-to-back 6-0 victories to open the season.

Looking ahead, Saint Rose is back home Tuesday to host Mercy in a non-conference match at
Sullivan Field at the Plumeri Sports Complex. Kickoff is set for 5:30 pm. Meanwhile, the Tigers are scheduled to host LIU Post on Thursday at 4:00 pm.
