ALBANY–The College of Saint Rose scored three times in each half to open its 2014 campaign on a high note with a 6-0 non-conference win versus Nyack this afternoon at
Sullivan Field at the Plumeri Sports Complex. Six different players found the back of the net for the Golden Knights (1-0) who are ranked #6 in the NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division II Preseason Poll.

Kristin Carr had a goal and an assist and senior forward
Carmelina Puopolo set up a pair of strikes to lead Saint Rose. Sophomore keeper
Ashley Homer picked up the clean sheet in her first collegiate start.

The Golden Knights freely probed the offensive third throughout the early going before Carr finished a through ball from the top of the area. Six minutes later, junior midfielder
Michaela Phillips got in the air to head home a corner from Puopolo. Junior midfielder
Quinn Massaroni then collected a drop pass from Carr and rifled a shot into the top-right corner to make it 3-0 Saint Rose at intermission.

Sammy Blizzard then finished 12 minutes apart in the second period.

Saint Rose controlled the pace throughout en routeto a 14-0 shot-on-goal advantage. The Golden Knights also generated nine corner kicks, while yielding only one.

Looking ahead, Saint Rose is on the road Sunday, September 7 with a 12:00 pm match at Holy Family in Philadelphia. Meanwhile, the Warriors have a 1:00 pm date Saturday at Roberts Wesleyan in Rochester.
