Last Time Out: The College of Saint Rose recorded its fifth shutout in six games this year with Saturday's 3-0 win against visiting Northeast-10 Conference rival Southern New Hampshire. Senior forward Carmelina Puopolo recorded her fourth career hat trick to pace the Golden Knights attack. Meanwhile, the backline of seniors La'Quilla Upton and Jourdan Thompson, and junior Nicole Shively, along with sophomore keeper Ashley Homer, limited the Penmen to one shot-on-goal. Freshman forward Morgan Burchhardt and junior forward Jennifer Busk both picked up an assist throughout the afternoon.
 
Last Meeting (11/17/13 | NCAA Tournament): The Golden Knights upended the visiting Panthers 2-0 in a second-round match, after also defeating them a week earlier by the same score in the NE-10 Championship Final. Junior midfielder Michaela Phillips scored what held up as the game-winner with 20:48 elapsed and Sydney Bond provided the insurance goal at the 23:11 mark. Between the posts, Jessica Gerski was called upon to make one save for Saint Rose, while senior Sam Whitney turned aside two shots-on-target for the Panthers. The Golden Knights manufactured a 10-7 shot advantage, although Adelphi pushed forward and engineered a 5-2 differential throughout the second half.
 
Scouting Saint Rose (6-0/2-0 NE-10): The Golden Knights are the nation's top-ranked team according to the most recent NSCAA/Continental Tire Poll. They grabbed the first point in the fourth annual Upstate Challenge rivalry series versus Le Moyne with Wednesday's 4-0 victory in Syracuse. Saint Rose has outscored its six opponents 23-1 and has generated 53 corner kicks, while surrendering 12 on the year. Furthermore, 14 different players have figured in the scoring column. Puopolo collected her 50th career assist in Wednesday's Le Moyne victory. That mark places her tied for 12th all-time in the NCAA Division II record book. Puopolo is furthermore one of seven players in NCAA Division II history to record 50 goals (61) and 50 assists. She was honored as the NE-10 Player of the Week yesterday. Additionally, Thompson was named the conference's Defensive Player of the Week.
 
Scouting Adelphi (5-0/2-0 NE-10): The Panthers are ranked #13 in the NSCAA Poll. They are coming off of Saturday's 3-0 non-league victory versus Queens. They have yet to allow a goal this year and have outshot their opponents by a 109-25 margin. Adelphi, like Saint Rose, possesses a balanced attack. Sixteen different players have figured in the scoring column with sophomore forwards Lauren Gomez and Victoria Antonino leading the way with four goals apiece. Junior forward Olivia Czar has three strikes to her credit. Whitney, the 2013 NE-10 Goalkeeper of the Year, has made nine saves throughout 415 minutes of action.
 
Up Next: Both teams have conference road matches set for Saturday. The Golden Knights have a 1:00 pm meeting at Franklin Pierce in Rindge, NH; while the Panthers have an 11:00 am date at Saint Michael's in Colchester, VT.
