ALBANY-Saint Anselm scored five unanswered second quarter goals to break open a 1-1 game en route to a 14-5 win versus The College of Saint Rose in
Northeast-10 Conference action today at
Sullivan Field at the Plumeri Sports Complex. The Hawks (6-8/5-6 NE-10) manufactured a 57-43 shot advantage to spoil the season finale for the Golden Knights (2-12/2-9 NE-10).
Senior attack
Brett McAuliffe scored two goals and set up another, while junior midfielder
Kris Miller found the net twice as well to pace the Saint Rose offense. Junior attack
Evan Helming accounted for the other tally.
Meanwhile, freshman goalkeeper
Joe Shapiro made 11 saves throughout 45 minutes of action, while junior defenseman
Kevin Jadick and sophomore midfielder
Mike Balla caused three and two turnovers respectively.
Junior midfielder James Peters put Saint Anselm up 1-0 with 12:14 elapsed in the game, before Miller tied it by finishing a Golden Knights offensive flurry with 3:30 to go in the first. However, the Hawks took control in the second to forge a 6-1 halftime lead that grew to 8-1 midway through the third.
Junior attack Geoff Kennedy struck four times and set up another to lead Saint Anselm.

Rich Bamberger were honored during a brief ceremony. They are part of the first recruiting class in Golden Knights men's lacrosse annals.
