The Plot: The College of Saint Rose returns to
Sullivan Field at the Plumeri Sports Complex after a two-game road trip by hosting
Northeast-10 Conference rival Southern New Hampshire at 5:00 pm today.
Last Meeting (4/24/12): Saint Rose outscored visiting Southern New Hampshire 4-2 throughout the second period en route to an 8-6 triumph. Seven different players found the back of the net for the Golden Knights. Sophomore attack Kevin Fleming and sophomore midfielder Kris Miller had two goals apiece. Fleming added a pair of assists, both in the opening period. Junior goalie Nick Longo made five of his seven saves in the second half to hold off the Penmen. Brendan O'Brien stopped 11 shots for Southern New Hampshire. Meanwhile, sophomore attack Jeremy Buckley and senior midfielder Ryan Woodford each collected two goals.
Scouting Saint Rose (3-8/3-4 NE-10): Saint Rose scored twice within a 46 second span and held host Pace to only one goal in the final 9:30 to upend the Setters 10-9 on Tuesday. Longo leads the NE-10 with 137 saves on the year. Junior attack Brett McAuliffe is fifth in the conference behind 33 points on 24 goals and nine assists. Sophomore defender Jake Files has caused 22 turnovers this season, the most in the conference. Saint Rose is 2-2 in games decided by one goal.
Scouting Southern New Hampshrie (4-7/4-3 NE-10): Seven different players notched a goal for Southern New Hampshire in a 14-6 win against visiting conference rival Franklin Pierce Tuesday. Sophomore attack Corey Allen led all players with four goals. Freshman attack Cameron Joyce leads the Penmen and is fourth in the league with 21 goals while Allen ranks second on the team with 20 strikes. Southern New Hampshire is second in the conference with an 85.8 clear percentage.
Up Next: The Golden Knights travel to Syracuse on Tuesday to face "Upstate Challenge" and league rival Le Moyne for a 4:00 pm start. The Penmen are on the road Wednesday for a 7:00 pm league game at Bentley in Waltham, MA.
