ALBANY – LIU Post jumped out to a 3-1 lead in the first quarter and extended its advantage to 7-2 at halftime en route to a 15-6 victory against The College of Saint Rose this afternoon at
Sullivan Field at the Plumeri Sports Complex. The Pioneers (3-0), ranked #10 in the most recent
USILA Coaches' Poll, also manufactured a 37-23 shot advantage although that differential stood at only 14-12 throughout the first two quarters.

Brett McAuliffe had two goals apiece to lead the Golden Knights (0-1) in their 2013 season-opener. Sophomore midfielder
Evan Helming accounted for the other Saint Rose strike while junior goalkeeper
Nick Longo made eight saves.
Four players accounted for all of the Pioneers scoring. Freshmen attack Ryan Slane and Matty Beccaris scored five and four goals respectively, while senior attack Justin Patterson and freshman midfielder Anthony Berardis tallied three each. Senior goalkeeper Tim Bradley wound up with seven saves throughout 54:13 of action.
Miller tied the game 1-1 with 3:48 to go in the opening quarter before LIU Post scored twice within a 1:06 span to go up 3-1. The Pioneers then scored three times in the first nine minutes of the second quarter to boost their advantage to 6-1. They eventually led 10-3 after three quarters, before the Golden Knights struck twice within a three-minute stretch during the fourth.
Looking ahead, Saint Rose begins a stretch of five away games starting this Wednesday at Mercy College. First faceoff is scheduled for 3:00 pm in Dobbs Ferry, NY. Meanwhile, the Pioneers return to action Saturday, March 2 for a 12:00 pm meeting at #7 Adelphi in Garden City, NY.
