Box Score LOWELL, MA – The College of Saint Rose scored twice in the opening 17 minutes on the way to a 2-0 victory at
Northeast-10 Conference rival and 12th ranked UMass Lowell this afternoon. The game represented a rematch of last year's NCAA Tournament third-round encounter that the top-ranked Golden Knights won 2-1 in Albany. It furthermore marked the 2012 conference opener for the two national powers.
Saint Rose (3-0/1-0 NE-10), which has yet to yield a goal this season, generated an 11-6 advantage in shots although the margin was only 4-3 in shots-on-target. The Golden Knights also manufactured a 7-4 corner kick advantage to increase their differential to 18-7 on the year.

Kristin Carr both scored their fourth goals of the season for Saint Rose. Bond headed home a corner kick off the foot of freshman back
Amanda Vasquez with 11:24 elapsed and then Carr struck unassisted less than six minutes later to provide the final margin.
Junior keeper
Jessica Gerski recorded two saves in the first half and another in the second for her eighth clean sheet in a Golden Knights jersey. Meanwhile, junior keeper Jill Carlson turned aside a shot in each period for the River Hawks (1-1-1/0-1-0 NE-10).
Looking ahead, Saint Rose is scheduled to return home Wednesday, September 12 to host NE-10 rival Le Moyne. Kickoff is set for 5:30 pm at
Sullivan Field at the Plumeri Sports Complex for what will be the first contest of the 2012-13 version of the
Upstate Challenge between the two schools.
