ALBANY - After a nine-day layoff, The College of Saint Rose returns to action this evening when the Golden Knights welcome Southern New Hampshire University to Albany. The contest is set to begin at 4:00 pm from Sullivan Field at the Plumeri Sports Complex.

Last Time Out
Saint Rose erased a 5-1 deficit with three unanswered strikes to start the second period, but top-ranked and defending national champion Mercyhurst College scored 14 of the final 15 goals in the contest to come away with a 19-6 victory over the Golden Knights on April 14. Freshman attackman Kevin Fleming scored two goals to lead Saint Rose. Senior midfielder Joe Pompo finished with a goal and an assist as did freshmen midfielders Kris Miller and Louie Buccella. Sophomore goalie Nick Longo finished two shy of his season-high with 15 saves for the Golden Knights. At the other end, sophomore goalie Michael Grace turned aside three shots in 45 minutes of action for Mercyhurst. The Lakers held a 47-19 margin in shots and forced Saint Rose into 26 turnovers. Mercyhurst also converted 24 of 26 clears and won the groundball war 32-25.

Scouting Saint Rose (5-6)
The Golden Knights are looking to snap a two-game skid tonight. Five of their six losses this year have come at the hands of top-10 opponents. Saint Rose has surrendered a mere 8.0 goals per-game throughout its five victories as opposed to 13.5 goals during its six setbacks. Sophomore attackman Brett McAuliffe and Fleming lead an offense that has seen 14 different players find the scoring column. McAuliffe has 34 points on 28 goals and six assists. He is 14th in the country (Division II) behind 2.6 goals per-game. Fleming has chalked up 22 goals and eight helpers for 30 points. Longo (5-6) averages 11.6 saves per-game on a regular basis, which ranks seventh nationally. Freshman midfielder Ryan McFee has won 54.7 percent (58-of-106) of his faceoff attempts thus far.

Scouting So. New Hampshire (3-9)
The Penmen have dropped three in a row since knocking off then #3 Merrimack College 7-6 back on April 10. They have gone just 1-5 on the road this year where they are being outscored by a 60-39 margin. Junior midfielder John Cuozzo and freshman attackman Corey Allen represent the squad's top scoring tandem. Cuozzo has 22 points on the strength of a team-best 17 goals. Allen is on his heels with 21 points via 11 goals and a team-high 10 assists. Senior goalie Brendan O'Brien (2-9) has seen a majority of the action between the pipes. O'Brien is among the nation's top-10 with 11.8 saves per-game.

Saint Rose returns to action Saturday when the Golden Knights host American International College in their 2012 regular-season finale. Game time is set for 1:00 pm from Sullivan Field. Southern New Hampshire also caps its spring campaign with a 1:00 pm road date at Saint Michael's College Saturday.
