ALBANY - The College of Saint Rose men's lacrosse team resumes its five-game homestand this evening when the Golden Knights welcome Chestnut Hill College to Albany. Face-off is set for 7:00 pm from Sullivan Field at the Christian Plumeri Sports Complex.

LAST TIME OUT
Saint Rose roared back from a 6-1 deficit with five unanswered strikes, but visiting Merrimack College closed the game with a 9-0 run to upend the Golden Knights 15-6 Sunday evening. Freshman attackman Kevin Fleming scored two goals and added an assist to lead Saint Rose. Meanwhile, junior midfielder Rich Bamberger and freshman midfielder Kris Miller each had a goal and an assist. Fleming registered back-to-back tallies to send Saint Rose into the break trailing 6-3. The Golden Knights scored three more times within the first five minutes of the third period to forge a 6-6 tie. Sophomore attackman Brett McAuliffe finished off a feed from freshman midfielder Colby Reagan to draw Saint Rose even at the 10:23 mark. However, the fourth-ranked Warriors scored what proved to be the game-winner less than two minutes later and thus went on an impressive scoring parade of their own to put things out of reach.

SCOUTING SAINT ROSE (3-3)
The Golden Knights had their three-game win streak snapped in Sunday's loss versus #4 Merrimack. All three Saint Rose losses this year have come at the hands of top-six opponents. The Golden Knights have surrendered a mere 7.7 goals per-game throughout their three victories as opposed to 14.0 goals during their three setbacks. McAuliffe, Fleming and Bamberger have all reached twin-figures in goals thus far. McAuliffe leads the way with 14 goals and four assists for 18 points. Fleming has chalked up 11 goals and four helpers for 15 points, while Bamberger is on his heels with 14 points via 10 goals and four assists. Sophomore goalie Nick Longo averages 12.3 saves per-game on a regular basis, which ranks fifth nationally (Division II). He has made 74 saves and owns a .532 save percentage as well.

SCOUTING CHESTNUT HILL (6-1)
The Griffins are ranked eighth in the latest United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Division II Poll. Chestnut Hill comes into tonight having won five in a row following a 10-9 triumph versus Wheeling Jesuit University on Saturday. Its only setback of the year came via a 17-5 loss at defending national champion Mercyhurst College back on March 3. Chestnut Hill possesses the fourth-highest scoring offense in the country (Division II) at this juncture. The Griffins put up 13.86 goals per-game. Sophomore attackman Mike Melnychenko leads the way with 22 goals and six assists for 28 points. He ranks eighth nationally with 3.14 goals per-outing. Goalie Dakota Maurer owns a slim 6.72 GAA and a .598 save percentage in seven starts between the pipes.

Saint Rose returns to action one week from tonight when the Golden Knights host Mercy College in a 7:00 pm start from Sullivan Field. Meanwhile, Chestnut Hill returns home to entertain #9 Seton Hill University at 1:00 pm Saturday.
