ALBANY - The College of Saint Rose men's lacrosse team resumes its five-game homestand this evening when the Golden Knights welcome Merrimack College to Albany. Face-off is set for 4:30 pm from Sullivan Field at the Christian Plumeri Sports Complex. Both squads come into today's contest having won three straight games.

Nick Longo was called upon to turn away eight threats on-target. The Golden Knights never trailed and completely broke open an 11-6 game by scoring seven straight goals throughout the opening 7:30 of the fourth quarter. Saint Rose outshot Dominican by a 46-23 margin, won 22 of 29 faceoffs, and was successful on all but one of its 17 clearing opportunities.
SCOUTING SAINT ROSE (3-2)
The Golden Knights own a three-game win streak after dropping their first two to a pair of top-10 opponents. Saint Rose has surrendered a mere 7.7 goals per-game throughout its three victories as opposed to 13.5 goals during its two setbacks. McAuliffe, Fleming and Bamberger are all contributing double-digit point totals. McAuliffe leads the way with 17 points via 13 goals and four assists. Fleming and Bamberger have eached chalked up nine goals and three helpers for 12 points apiece. Longo averages 13.4 saves per-game on a regular basis, which ranks among the top-10 nationally (Division II). He has made 67 saves and owns a 10.00 goals-against-average. Longo is furthermore in the top-15 in save percentage (.573).
SCOUTING MERRIMACK (3-0)
The Warriors are ranked fourth in the latest United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Division II Poll. Merrimack comes into today on the strength of a 14-6 triumph over Rollins on Thursday evening. The Warriors are putting up 14.33 goals per-game, which ranks third in the country (Division II). Four players are producing double-digit point totals led by freshman attackman Jamie Shand. Shand has chalked up 14 points behind a goal and 13 assists. The latter leads the nation. Meanwhile, junior midfielder Corey Lunney is on his heels with 13 points via nine goals and four helpers. Freshman goalie Morgan Green has started all three games in the net. He owns a 7.20 GAA and a .571 save percentage.
CANCER AWARENESS DAY
Saint Rose team members will wear lime green in support of the
HEADstrong Foundation and each player will furthermore wear a color of their choice to support a form of cancer that has impacted his life. Donation stations will be located at the field and color coordinated balloons will line the complex as well.

Saint Rose returns to action Wednesday night when the Golden Knights host #8 Chestnut Hill College at 7:00 pm at Sullivan Field. Meanwhile, Merrimack resumes its Northeast-10 Conference slate Tuesday when Franklin Pierce University arrives in North Andover, MA for a 4:00 pm start.
