ALBANY - The College of Saint Rose men's lacrosse team will host the program's first-ever home contest tonight when the Golden Knights meet Dominican College at Sullivan Field at the Christian Plumeri Sports Complex. Game time is set for 5:00 pm. The game was originally scheduled for February 29, but was postponed due to inclement weather.

LAST TIME OUT
Saint Rose outscored host Assumption 4-2 throughout the second half en route to a 9-7 victory last Wednesday night in Worcester, MA. Junior attackman Rich Bamberger scored four goals and set up another pair, while sophomore attackman Brett McAuliffe registered his third consecutive multi-goal effort with a pair of strikes to go along with two assists for the Golden Knights. Furthermore, sophomore goalkeeper Nick Longo recorded 10 of his 14 saves during the final 30 minutes to hold off the Greyhounds, who outshot Saint Rose by a 34-27 margin and generated a 37-32 groundball differential while winning 13 of 20 faceoffs.

SCOUTING SAINT ROSE (2-2)
The Golden Knights have won two in a row heading into the program's first-ever home contest tonight. Saint Rose has surrendered a mere 8.0 goals per-game throughout its two victories as opposed to 13.5 goals during its two setbacks. McAuliffe is the lone double-digit point producer thus far behind a team-leading 12 points on the strength of nine goals and three assists. Bamberger (6g, 1a), freshman attackman Kevin Fleming (5g, 2a) and senior midfielder Joe Pompo (4g, 3a) have each chalked up seven points. Longo has played all 240 minutes between the pipes. He has made 59 saves and owns a 10.75 goals-against-average. All told, the Golden Knights suit up 25 freshmen on a roster that includes 30 student-athletes.

SCOUTING DOMINICAN (0-2)
The Chargers fell 19-4 to #11 Chestnut Hill on Friday and have thus dropped their first two contests of the 2012 campaign. Both setbacks have come at the hands of ranked opponents (#5 Merrimack). Senior attackman Korin Pierce and sophomore attackman Chris Delaney have combined for eight of the clubs 11 goals so far this year. They have each found the back of the net four times. Pierce has also added three assists, while Delaney has a helper of his own. Junior goalie Andrew Slater has chalked up 37 saves throughout 120 minutes of action. Dominican has been outscored 36-11 so far and its opponents have manufactured a 73-20 margin in shots-on-target. From an overall standpoint, 10 of the 18 players on the roster are underclassmen.

UP NEXT
Saint Rose resumes its five-game homestand this Sunday when the Golden Knights welcome #5 Merrimack College to Albany for a 4:30 pm start. Meanwhile, Dominican heads to Molloy College for a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest at 1:00 pm Saturday.
