Box Score WEST HAVEN, CT – The College of Saint Rose posted its 10th shutout of the year and in the process snapped
Northeast-10 Conference rival New Haven's four-game win streak with a 2-0 victory this afternoon.

Carmelina Puopolo linked up for both strikes to lead the Golden Knights (14-1-2/11-1-2) who are ranked #17 for the third straight week in the
NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division II Top-25 Poll. Puopolo registered her league-leading 16th goal of the year while Vasquez touched home her conference best fifth game-winner.

Jessica Gerski needed to make only three saves to lower her goals-against-average to 0.32, which is also a league best. Meanwhile, sophomore keeper Natasha Purchia was much busier at the other as she had to record 12 saves to keep the host Chargers (11-5-1/8-5-1 NE-10) within striking distance.
Saint Rose controlled tempo for most of the contest with a 24-10 advantage in shots, including a 14-3 differential in shots-on-goal. The Golden Knights also manufactured 10 corner kicks, while surrendering only a pair.
Puopolo got the scoring started by sending a through ball to Vasquez, who took a few touches before finishing in the top-right corner from about 13-yards out with 21:47 gone by. Vazquez then returned the favor at 82:23 mark by dribbling across the field before finding Puopolo who fired home a shot from the top of the area.
Looking ahead, both teams will close out the regular-season portion of their 2012 campaigns with a pair of NE-10 home games on Saturday. The Golden Knights will welcome Bentley to
Sullivan Field at the Plumeri Sports Complex for a 2:00 pm start. Meanwhile, the Chargers will entertain Southern New Hampshire at 7:00 pm.
