The Plot: The College of Saint Rose welcomes American International College for a
Northeast-10 Conference match at
Sullivan Field at the Plumeri Sports Complex this evening.
Last Meeting (9/24/11): Goals by junior forward Carmelina Puopolo and sophomore forward Brittany Barry gave the Golden Knights a 2-0 victory at American International. Puopolo put in the game-winner with seven minutes left in the first half while Barry provided the insurance marker in the 79th minute. Junior keeper Jessica Gerski made five saves for the shutout.
Scouting #1 Saint Rose (8-0-1/6-0-1 NE-10): Puopolo set the school scoring record with her 115th career point during Saturday's 6-0 win against visiting Saint Michael's. She surpassed the 112 points recorded by Saint Rose Hall of Famer Eliza Whipple (2000-03). Furthermore, Puopolo pushed her conference-leading point total to 33 (12-9-33) after Saturday's three-goal performance. Junior midfielder Sydney Bond stands second in the league with 20 points via nine goals and one assists. Bond has scored a goal in the past four matches. Freshman forward Kristin Carr's 15 points (6-3-15) puts her sixth in the conference. Meanwhile, Gerski ranks first in the NE-10 goalkeeper statistics with a 0.27 goals-against-average, a 0.917 save percentage, and seven wins. In total, 14 different players have figured into the scoring column this season. Among them are seven freshmen.
Scouting American International (5-2-2/4-1-1 NE-10): Four of the Yellow Jackets' five wins have been decided by one goal. They are coming off of Saturday's 0-0 (2OT) draw with visiting Stonehill. Junior forward Caroline Boyce ranks second in the NE-10 with six assists that have helped yield at team-high 12 points (3-6-12). Sophomore keeper Samantha Tabak has registered two shutouts and a 4-1-1 record between the posts.
