Box Score ALBANY – The College of Saint Rose kept its unbeaten record intact with a 5-0 victory against visiting Northeast-10 Conference rival Assumption this afternoon at Sullivan Field at the Plumeri Sports Complex. The ninth-ranked Golden Knights (6-0-1/4-0-1 N-10) controlled the pace throughout that yielded a 26-0 shot advantage and 7-1 edge in corner kicks.

Sophomore forward Carmelina Puopolo scored twice in the opening 12 minutes, before Saint Rose struck three more times in the second half. Senior midfielder Christina Cuffari set up Puopolo's second marker and scored herself, while senior forward Gianna D'Errico and freshman midfielder Cenayda Guzman accounted for the final two goals.

Both teams used a pair of keepers for a half. Sophomore Jessica Gerski and freshman Lauren Minkoff did not need to make a save, while freshman Rachel Edgin and sophomore Allison Bruder were forced to make eight and four saves respectively for Assumption (2-3-1/0-3-1 NE-10).

Puopolo displayed her nose for the net by creating space with a nice dribbling move in the box that allowed her to finish what held up as the game winner with just less than five minutes gone by. She then collected a feed through the area from Cuffari, and fired a shot home far side for a 2-0 Golden Knights advantage.

At the outset of the second period, Cuffari got herself in the goal scoring column when she finished top-side a pass off the foot of senior midfielder Kimberly Morton. Thirteen minutes later, D'Errico blistered a shot from the right flank that sailed into the upper left-hander corner. Guzman then gathered in a nifty over the top volley from sophomore midfielder Niki Smith and buried her strike for the third goal of her young collegiate career.

Looking ahead, both teams have conference games on tap for Tuesday. The Golden Knights head to Long Island for a 7:00 pm date at Adelphi, while Assumption welcomes Le Moyne to Worcester, MA with a 3:30pm kickoff.
