ALBANY - The College of Saint Rose women's soccer team will be seeking its fifth consecutive berth in the championship game of the Northeast-10 Conference Tournament when the Golden Knights host Stonehill College in a semifinal contest today. Kickoff is set for 4:00 pm at Sullivan Field at the Christian Plumeri Sports Complex. Admission to the game will be $5 for adults, $3 for senior citizens, children under 12 and Saint Rose employees with an ID. Admission is free for Saint Rose students with a valid ID. The Series against Stonehill
Saint Rose owns a 9-7-0 lead in the all-time series. The Golden Knights have taken the past six meetings between the two clubs, outscoring Stonehill 14-3 over that span. Today marks the first time the two sides will meet in the NE-10 Tournament.
Last Meeting (October 1, 2011)
Saint Rose dictated the pace for the most of the afternoon and generated six shots-on-goal without allowing any in a 1-0 win versus Stonehill back on October 1. The Golden Knights also manufactured 12 corner kicks and did not allow the Skyhawks a similar opportunity.
Sophomore forward
Carmelina Puopolo registered what held up as the game-winner. Puopolo gathered a ball near the top of the area, pinned her defender by spinning away from pressure and finished top-side with 20:35 elapsed.
Sophomore keeper Amy Wheaton made five saves, including four in the first half, for Stonehill; while sophomore
Jessica Gerski did not need to make a save throughout the contest for Saint Rose.

NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division II Poll. Saint Rose chalked up a 4-0 win versus Adelphi in an NE-10 Quarterfinal encounter Tuesday. The Golden Knights ran their scoreless streak to four games (360 minutes) and are unbeaten in their last 13 (12-0-1) league tournament outings. Senior midfielder

Saint Rose has manufactured more than 100 corner kicks than it has surrendered behind a 156-45 differential and has outscored its opponents 71-10 to date. The Golden Knights possess the nation's (NCAA Division II) most potent offense (3.74 gpg) behind a balanced attack that features six double-digit point producers, the top three of which pace the NE-10 scoring parade.
Puopolo leads the way with 35 points. Freshman forward
Brittany Barry and sophomore midfielder
Sydney Bond follow with 26 and 24 points respectively. Puopolo leads the league with 13 goals to go with nine assists, while Barry has 12 strikes and two assists on the year. Bond has contributed 10 goals and four helpers thus far.
In the back, Gerski owns a 0.67 GAA. She has picked up 44 saves and anchors a defense that has 12 shutouts on the year.
Scouting Stonehill (11-6-2)
The Skyhawks upended fourth-seed Southern Connecticut State 3-2 Tuesday afternoon to earn a spot in today's NE-10 Semifinal contest. Three different players found the back of the net for Stonehill, including sophomore midfielder Catherine Kelly who netted the eventual game-winner in the 71st minute.
Fourteen players have figured in the scoring column to lead a balanced attack coupled with a defense that ranks second in the conference behind only Saint Rose with a team 0.61 GAA. Senior forward Kelsey Mahoney paces the squad with 13 points on five goals and three assists, while classmate Sarah Hickey is on her heels with 12 points via five goals and two assists.
Wheaton has chalked up six shutouts, 72 saves and a 0.66 GAA in 15 games in goal.
