Biography

GENERAL: Is expected to once again split the catching duties with Derek Marshall…Said his parents are the people who have had the greatest impact on him throughout his lifetime…Listed New York Yankees manager and former catcher Joe Girardi as the athlete he admires the most…Favorite movie is “The Sandlot”…Plans on attending graduate school and continuing his involvement with baseball after completing his undergraduate work at Saint Rose…Works as a baseball camp counselor during the summer.

AS A JUNIOR: Appeared in 33 games and started 29, 23 of which came behind the plate…Batted .210 (21-for-100), scored 15 runs and fanned only seven times…Threw out 16 potential base stealers, the fifth best mark in the NE-10…Strung together a nine-game hit streak (4/9/09 – 4/26/09)…Had three multi-hit games during that run including a 3-for-4 effort with three RBI in an 11-8 setback to New Haven (4/9/09)…Also went 3-for-5 in a 9-7 loss versus Southern Connecticut State (3/14/09) in Florida.

AS A SOPHOMORE: Missed the second half of the season due to injury…Batted .358 (19-for-53)…Opened the year with a seven-game hit streak…Batted .412 (7-for-17) during that stretch…Finished 3-for-3 versus American International (4/13/08)…Finished 3-for-4 in the opener of a doubleheader with Saint Michael’s (4/18/08).

AS A FRESHMAN: Appeared in 29 games and made 26 starts…Finished tied for fourth on the squad with a .264 batting average…Drove in 28 runs…Was eighth in the NE-10 in runners caught stealing (8)…Had six multi-hit games…Went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs scored and a walk in the finale of a doubleheader versus Seton Hill (3/4/07).

HIGH SCHOOL: Was an All-League and All-Section honoree as both a junior and senior…Earned All-County honors both years as well…Named Scholar-Athlete of the Year as a senior.
