GENERAL: Coming off a solid rookie campaign…Experienced middle distance runner…Works for a catering company in the Hamptons during the summer months…Best sports moment was winning the Suffolk County Championships as a senior in high school…Enjoys playing the guitar and listening to music…Favorite movie is “Back to the Future” and favorite musician is Jimi Hendrix…Has a pair of cousins, Justin and Brandon Bertone, who played football and lacrosse at C.W. Post.
 
AS A FRESHMAN: Competed in all seven meets…Finished 25^th in his collegiate debut at the Harry Lang Invitational (9/3/11)…Completed the 6k race in 23:25.00…Took 18^th among 66 competitors at the Purple Valley Classic (9/24/11) with a 5k time of 17:51…Was the second Saint Rose finisher at the Paul Short Run (9/30/11) after covering the 8k distance in 28:25…Wound up fourth overall at the Golden Knights Joust (10/7/11) in a five-mile time of 28:26.
 
HIGH SCHOOL: Four-year letterwinner in cross country and track & field at Connetquot…Twice garnered All-Suffolk County honors in cross country…Helped lead the T-Birds to the 2010 Suffolk County Championship and was an All-Star selection…Also an All-League performer in track…Received the Sportsmanship Award in cross country and the Coaches Award in both sports…Was a Gold Key Award winner in recognition of outstanding achievement in graphic design and independent study.
