CONCORD, N.H. – The College of Saint Rose finished 13th at The Penmen Fall Invitational that wrapped up today at the par-72, 6500-yard Beaver Meadow Golf Club. The Golden Knights fired a two-round team total of 633, to finish just 14 strokes behind eighth place Saint Anselm.
Jack Manning tied for ninth place among 84 competitors to lead Saint Rose. Manning finished at even par for yesterday's first round and fired a 75 (+3) today for a two-day 147.
John Russell was one of the biggest movers up the leaderboard. He removed six strokes off his score from yesterday with a 77 (+5) this afternoon to tie for 54th behind a two-day 160.
Connor Champoux and
John Del Priore wound up 61st and 72nd with respective 161 and 165 totals, while
Zach Gregg carded a two-day 172 total.
Host Southern New Hampshire jumped two spots up the leaderboard today as the Penmen finished with a 286 (-2) team score for a two-day, tournament low 583, six shots ahead of second place Assumption. Merrimack's Patrick McCarthy carded a two-round 140 (-4) to finish one stroke ahead of SNHU's Matt Conti for individual medalist honors.
Going forward, Saint Rose will spend the next six days preparing for the Northeast-10 Conference Championship at En-Joie in Endicott, N.Y. Le Moyne College is hosting the event that is set for Sunday and Monday, October 2 and 3.
