ENDICOTT, N.Y. – The College of Saint Rose finished in a three-way tie for fourth place among 10 institutions at the Northeast-10 Conference Championship that was held at the par 72, 6,750-yard En-Joie Golf Club. The tournament was cut to one round after today's action was canceled due to rain.
The Golden Knights tied with Franklin Pierce and Saint Michael's in a tight field for their best showing since 2016 when they hosted and finished third at nearby Olde Kinderhook Country Club. Assumption won the team championship with a 292 score, while defending NE10 Champion Southern New Hampshire and host Le Moyne placed right on the Greyhounds' heels at 293 and 294 respectively.
Freshman
Jack Manning led the Golden Knights quintet following an ever par 72. Manning put himself in position by firing a two-under 33 on the back nine Sunday to wind up tied for sixth place in the 50-player field.
He was followed by senior
Kyle Adams and junior
Matthew Sweet who walked in the clubhouse with respective scores of 74 and 75 that tied them for 13th and 17th place. Sophomore
Nick Rumsey finished two shots behind Sweet to tie for 31st while senior
Connor Adams carded an 84 to wind up in a tie for 46th.
Saint Michael's senior Matt Johnson took home individual medalist honors with a four-under 68.
Looking ahead, the Golden Knights are back in action this Friday and Saturday for the 11th annual Saint Rose Fall Shootout that is being held at Pinehaven Country Club in Guilderland.
