Northeast-10 Conference Southwest Division rival Southern Connecticut State in the finale to gain a split in yesterday's doubleheader. The Golden Knights grabbed a 2-1 win in the nightcap on the heels of a 7-6 setback in the opener. In the matinee, Saint Rose rallied from a 5-1 deficit by scoring once in the sixth and three times in the seventh to tie it 5-5. Southern Connecticut State then scored twice in the bottom half of the seventh, before the Golden Knights added one in the eighth. Senior left fielder

Derek Reed lined an RBI base hit up the middle to account for the three runs in the seventh.
Scouting Saint Rose (8-20):Bellinger had his 12-game hit streak snapped in yesterday's opener, but subsequently had two hits in the nightcap…Bellinger is batting a team-best .366 (37-for-101), eighth highest among the NE-10 leaders…Harper now owns a 2.40 ERA with 39 strikeouts and only nine walks in a team-high 56.1 innings of work…Junior right-hander
Phillip Zdanowski is holding opposing hitters to a .211 batting average throughout 39.0 innings on the bump…He has a team-best 2.31 ERA, which is 13th among the conference leaders.

Scouting Dominican (17-20): The Chargers have won four of thier last five following Friday's 13-4 victory at Caldwell...Senior infielder Robert Alonso is batting a team-leading .350 (48-for-137) with 33 RBI and 16 extra-base hits... Junior first baseman/outfielder Carlos Lopez and sophomore outfielder Jayson Gray are hitting .313 (40-for-128) and .292 (42-for-144) respectively…Gray also leads the squad with 21 stolen bases while sophomore outfielder Jonathan Martinez has 18 to his credit…On the hill, senior right-hander Peter Martinez was 4-2 with a 2.19 ERA throughout a team-leading 53.1 innings of work…Also, sophomore righty Corey Pic is 3-0 with five saves and a 3.29 ERA in 14 appearances out of the bullpen.
