PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y.- The College of Saint Rose baseball team finished its final season this afternoon with a first round defeat in the Northeast-10 Conference Championship. The Golden Knights spring campaign came to a close at Pace, the top seed in the NE10 Southwest Division, by the score of 8-5 at Peter X. Finnerty Field.
The two squads were tied at 5-5 after six and a half innings, however the Setters scored once in the sixth and twice in the eighth to punch their ticket to the NE10's weekend tournament at Franklin Pierce.
Nathan Toms got the Golden Knights on the board early with a single that scored
Vince Venditti in the top of the first.
Toms delivered another RBI in the top of the fifth, as his ground out to left side scored
Louis Gendron, who started the fifth-inning rally with a ground-rule double that allowed Venditti to come home.
Ethan Farina and
Jack Griffin each scored on balls in the infield for the Golden Knights in the sixth, with Venditti produced an RBI in the frame.

Venditti and Toms both finished the day with two hits, while Gendron reached twice as well.
The Golden Knights wrap the spring with an overall record of 20-24.
