The Plot: Saint Rose is aiming to improve to 5-2 at home, while Merrimack is looking to extend its win streak to five games.
 
Last Time Out: Franklin Pierce turned 22 Saint Rose miscues into 33 points to upend the host Golden Knights 72-62 in Northeast-10 Conference action Saturday afternoon. Junior guard Chris Dorgler and freshman center Sam Eckstrom both recorded career-highs to lead Saint Rose. Dorgler went 4-for-8 from the arc on the way to 22 points, while Eckstrom tossed in 12 of his 16 points in the second period. The former also had eight rebounds and three assists. Senior forward Ryen Vilmont and senior guard Paul Becklens led four Franklin Pierce double-digit scorers with 18 points apiece.
 
Last Meeting: Saint Rose rallied from a nine point deficit in the final six minutes en route to an 82-78 win in North Andover, MA last January 14. The Golden Knights shot 52.9 percent (18-for-34) from the floor and held the Warriors to 37.9 percent shooting in the second half. Dominykas Milka went 12-for-16 from the field on the way to his 12th double-double of the year. Milka finished with 25 points and 16 rebounds. Kareem Thomas and junior forward Tyler Sayre tossed in 13 points apiece. Junior guard Gelvis Solano wound up with a game-high 28 points and five steals, while fellow junior guard Anthony Barry had 21 points in 24 minutes off the bench for Merrimack.
 
Scouting the Golden Knights (5-11/3-6 NE-10)
: Tonight caps the squad's busiest stretch of the season with its fifth game in a 10 day span…Saint Rose is looking to improve to 5-2 on its home floor…Eckstrom has been in double-figures scoring throughout each of the last three games…He has averaged 13.3 points and 7.3 rebounds in 21.7 minutes off the bench during that time…Dorgler is averaging a team-leading 10.9 points and 4.3 assists…He has thus had a hand in 38.5 percent of the team's field goals…Freshman forward Jalaun Taylor is pulling down a team-best 5.8 rebounds on a nightly basis.
 
Scouting Merrimack (8-5/4-4 NE-10): The Warriors have won five of their last six, including four straight…They boast a +4.9 turnover margin and five double-digit scorers…Solano leads the offense and stands second in the NE-10 with 21.4 ppg…Junior guard Troy Hammel follows at 16.7 ppg…Junior forward James Kennedy averages a team best 7.1 rebounds to go along with 11.1 ppg…Head coach Bert Hammel is in his 35th year on the Merrimack sideline…He collected his 500th win with the squad's 92-74 triumph at Bloomfield on December 21.
 
Up Next: The Golden Knights are off until next Wednesday, January 21, when they travel to Colchester, VT to take on Saint Michael's. Tip-off for the nightcap of the league doubleheader is set for 7:30 pm. Meanwhile, the Warriors are back home this Saturday, January 17, to meet Le Moyne at 3:00 pm.
