Last Time Out: The College of Saint Rose pounded out an 11-10 victory in the finale to gain a split Sunday at Northeast-10 Conference rival Assumption. The Greyhounds scored three runs in both the sixth and seven innings to take the opener 8-3. In the nightcap, the Golden Knights pushed across four runs with two down in the seventh and then scored the winning run in the eighth when junior first baseman Zac Bellinger brought around senior left fielder Scott Hladik from first with a double to the gap in right-center.
 
Scouting Saint Rose: Saint Rose has opened 5-2 in league play for the first time since 2008…Hladik was named the NE-10 Player of the Week yesterday after he hit .571 (12-for-21) with a home run, four doubles, nine RBI, and eight runs scored throughout six contests…Junior outfielder Nick Venier has now hit safely in 19 straight games…The Golden Knights have outscored their opponents 30-16 from the eighth inning on this spring.
 
Scouting American International: American International jumped out to a 4-2 lead after two innings en route to yesterday's 7-2 victory against visiting NE-10 rival Merrimack in Springfield…Yesterday's win snapped a seven-game skid for the Yellow Jackets…Junior outfielder Andy Cherico paces the squad with a .458 on-base percentage…Senior outfielder Dan Asselin has six extra-base hits this spring…He stands fifth in the NE-10 with a team-leading .362 (34-for-94) batting average…He has also driven in a team-high 17 runs…On the mound, freshman southpaw Michael Gentile has struck out 22 batters and has walked just six in 19.0 innings of work…He is 2-0 with an 1.89 ERA.
 
Up Next: The Golden Knights are home this weekend with a key intra-division three-game series versus Adelphi. Both Saturday's doubleheader and Sunday's finale get rolling at 12:00 pm. Meanwhile, the Yellow Jackets have a three-game home set with Southern Connecticut State this weekend.
