NORTH ANDOVER, MA–The College of Saint Rose scored five runs in the ninth inning of the opener to split at
Northeast-10 Conference rival Merrimack this afternoon. The host Warriors then jumped out to a 6-0 lead after two innings en route to a 10-5 victory in the nightcap.
Senior right fielder
Brian Maynard went 2-for-4 with three RBI while senior left fielder
Scott Hladik finished 3-for-4 with three runs scored to pace the Golden Knights (8-14/4-1 NE-10) in the first game. Junior first baseman
Zac Bellinger wound up 2-for-5 with a pair of RBI. Junior second baseman
Ryan Hooker singled and doubled; freshman shortstop
Mike Flynn drove home a pair of runs, and freshman third baseman
Tyler Ungerland tripled as Saint Rose tied its season-high with 13 hits.
Trailing 7-5 heading to the ninth, junior designated hitter
Nick Venier drew a leadoff walk, Hladik doubled to left and then Bellinger brought across both of them with a base hit that tied it 7-7. Three batters later, Bellinger scored on a fielder's choice and then Flynn singled to drive in sophomore catcher

Chad Adams.
Junior right-hander
Chris Gould retired Merrimack in order to collect his fourth save of the season.
In the finale, Adams went 3-for-4, while Flynn and sophomore centerfielder
Derek Reed both finished 2-for-4. Flynn also had a pair of RBI.
Looking ahead, both squads have 12:00 pm doubleheaders tomorrow. The Golden Knights will head to Worcester, MA to take on Assumption; while the Warriors will host Le Moyne.
